Less stress and the Beautiful Mess

Now that thanksgiving is over we begin to look ahead to Christmas. Trees are going up and lights are beginning to twinkle. Children are getting excited because they know Santa is near.

So now how is your stress level? Are you worried you might not be able to afford the perfect gift…or any gifts at all? This time of year brings a lot of joy to people but brings a pressure to people to make desperate choices in order to provide a nice Christmas for their kids.

I want to share some words of wisdom posted by a 12 year old girl on her Facebook page.

“I’m thankful for the little moments in life with your best friends and family. Take life slowly and live for these few precious moments”

What insightful words from a child. Why can’t we all see things through a child’s eyes? What it all boils down to is this… Christmas isn’t a time of stress, we MAKE it stressful. Laugh a lot; Love your friends and family and just let Christmas happen. There is no need to spend ourselves into a mess.

Over the next couple of weeks you will get bombarded but ads and insinuations that you are somehow less of a parent if you don’t buy “This” gift or spend more than the national debt. We here at CCCS of Central Oklahoma are going to try to deliver you a positive message along with a tip or two on ways to spend smarter and buy richer.

By the way… I asked that little girl where she got those words from. Her response was “My head. I mean it is true, right”. You can’t argue with that kind of logic. I love my daughter…
