So I’m talking to my 12 year old daughter during spring break and I asked her what budgets and savings mean to her. She tells me “She has to budget her allowance so she can buy the things she wants. Sometimes that means she has to save to get them.”
Now this is coming from a girl that regularly pays her tithe and offering before she does anything else with her money. Wouldn’t it be great if we never lost that same faithfulness and dedication to our finances that our kids have. How do we as a society go about getting it back?
The truth is we can return to it. Having integrity in your finances is something you can (sorry for the pun) take to the bank. It is a process you can trust. The thing that gets me is there are articles and services everywhere on how to get out of debt fast – but few to help people get their relationship with money right. This girl has gold in her pocket. There’s no reason you can’t too.
